Trent Pevy
DIRECTOR
In his 25+ years of private practice, Trent has specialised entirely in property related matters. His years of diverse property law experience saw him cut his teeth in the world’s largest law firm, where he represented several Fortune 500 companies and the English Government in complex property transactions, and for one of the then leading property law firms in Brisbane and the Gold Coast on matters ranging from shopping centre acquisitions, mixed use developments, and property syndication work.
In early 2011, Trent founded Pevy Lawyers, which has grown to become one of the largest and most experienced teams of expert lawyers focusing entirely on the Australian accommodation sector.
Trent himself has acted on over 3500 management rights, motel and caravan park transactions throughout every state of Australia. He arguably acts for more new entrants to the accommodation industry than any other lawyer. Trent regularly presents at seminars and conferences in both Australia and overseas within these practice areas.
Trent enjoys acting for large scale consortiums, listed and non listed corporations, partnerships and single building operators in transactional and advisory matters. His hands on, grounded approach to achieving cost effective and timely results for his clientele is well known throughout the industry. No instruction is either too big or too small.
Trent is a keen investor in the management rights and motel sectors, owning interests across a number of freehold and leasehold assets in New South Wales and Queensland. Trent considers this ideally places him in a position to ensure Pevy Lawyers’ assistance to clients remains as commercial and relevant as possible.
Trent holds a Bachelor of Laws and is an admitted solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland, Supreme Court of New South Wales and the Supreme Court of England and Wales. Trent is one of only five lawyers on the esteemed Australian Resident and Accommodation Managers’ Association’s lawyers panel, and is regularly invited to provide input into lobbying efforts for legislative change, shape major bank credit and lending policies, and to assist institutional investors in their accommodation sector acquisition strategies.
Outside of work, Trent has been a longtime Clear Island Waters’ resident and enjoys family time with his wife Philippa, and children Henry and Zara. Whilst he is interested in just about any sport, he readily admits to an unhealthy obsession with snow skiing.
